I loved the way the sunlight lit the flower and the surrounding foliage, as a painter I could see so much potential to the composition. This was painted on a different type of canvas than I usually use which proved to be a challenge. The Weber canvas is significantly rougher than the Federicks I'm used to using. This canvas has a tendancy to "matt" all the colors which made it more difficult to control. I really enjoyed working on this painting. The colors were glorious and the shapes of the clemantis petals were just a delight!
