Juno, Queen of the Roman Gods, has the peacock as her symbolic animal. I read this somewhere... and at the same time I have been working a new series "people and their Pets"... having discovered this months show topic (rather late in the month).. it just seemed to fit... this face and Juno. The piece is hand drawn with gel ink on watercolor paper and then the watercolor paints are added. I am particularly intrigued by the spreading of the ink when the watercolor paints are applied to the paper. The materials are simple but the results can be quite exciting. The face is often the focus of my art. Here is Juno pictured with a bird on her head. Juno, the Queen of the Roman Gods.
