I've grown up in a place where it was quite likely the rooster went off before the alarm. A cackling crow quiet at first then quite insistant. the smell of bacon and coffee coming from my grandmothers kitchen. I miss it now, that it has been replaced by traffic sounds going off to work. This is my take on way back when.
