Sweet Dreams are made of this...who am I to disagree?
I am a huge fan of Anne Lennox. Not only an icon of the 80's, but of cutting edge music and an inspiration to many. The 80's was my wasted decade, my friends were busy establishing themselves in their choice of career paths, getting married, having kids and coming into their own, I was languishing in a world of anxiety and angst. I did not fit in, I did not blend. I was neither a knock out nor patently ugly. What I was was a dreamer without direction and uncomfortable in my own skin...that is how I saw Anne Lennox, so androgynous in her appearance yet cutting edge and confident in her presentation. Truly unique, talented and sure of herself. That is what I most needed demonstrated and confirmed... a pass to be different coupled with the ability to be yourself, That to me was success.
Anne Lennox was created with water soluble graphite, and oil paint. It is 16x20" and painted primarily with a palette knife.
