Art: Green Sandstone SOLD by Artist Shirley Jean
Polystyrene is better known by its trade name stryrofoam. The best thing about using styrofoan in art is that it keeps it out of landfills.Thats the main reason I started experimenting with the medium. Also I have liked the odd shapes it comes in. Hanging this is easy because it is so light. There is no need to use anchor bolts, a nail will do. There is a contrast between the dark holes and the light surface. This gives the piece more depth than it really has. It can be hung in any direction, even on the diagonal. I chose the sandstone colors to create a light feeling on the block pieces compared to the dark smaller pieces.See more of my work by visiting my portfolio.
