Art: Looking Back by Artist Dawn Lee Thompson
Looking Back: AVAILABLE $90 Can't it be a good thing? Can't you gain perspective and peace from a thoughtful look back? Why the pillar of salt? Life will drag you forward, regardless of backward glances. What is the harm in a goodbye peek? This bowl was created by hand cutting art glass in vibrant gold, deep orange and deeper red, and assembling the pieces on a clear "blank" to create the figure. It is set against pop art circles of clear in streaky gray, with red, black and gold accents. It was then fired to fuse the different glasses together, slowly cooled and re-fired to slump into this large bowl. This is a large and impactful piece and will hold its own as the centerpiece of many spaces. It is also very durable and can be used as a serving dish.
