This work was inspired by my own weaknesses. I tend to avoid issues that are sad, or stressful, or sometimes that just stir up controversy. I've also found that many of the women I know do the same, leaving the "big" or "ugly" issues up to their husbands or the men in their lives. Avoidance was formed to show how we many times just cover our eyes to things like hunger or racism, then hope they'll just go away.
