Art: Acorn Squash by Artist Deanne Flouton
Approximately 825 species in squashes, melons and gourds belong to the Cucurbitaceae or cucurbit plant family. Some are used as food, others are succulents, ornamentals or medicinals. Here are baskets of the edible Acorn squash with one Turban squash.   For the Gourd show the image was digitally enhanced in Studio Artist to boost the texture of the squash and make the image 'pop'.
