Art: Once I Sleep (original) by Artist Alma Lee
Where once I slept upon the softest vine
with sweetest dreaming
I am now awakened to sudden rudeness
and within my heart there is screaming

Where once once I lied with my lover
and sweetest wine
Now my nakedness bared without cover
in poisened ivy I am entwined

I should have known
my lover warned me in the course of time
where once love was served
now others with hatred dine

Still I remain, in my lover's embrace
before I die in the falling
he will descend from up above
and take me to my Lover's calling...

This is a very personal piece for me. It is about my personal awakening to something I had always known would come, and that quite harshly. At first I thought just keep you eyes closed and welcome sleep but failed miserable. But being awake has now become an Awakening whose truth will define me for the rest of my life ever reminded of my great and faithful lover.

This is an original collage of my drawings, decorative papers and Beeswax and gold leafing details. It is 12x12"
