ONE of a kind RAKU pottery pear..
Raku is a firing process where the pottery is pulled RED HOT out of the kiln at 1850 degrees using specialty equiptment and placed in a pot of Oregon pine needles to "smoke" - this is what causes the unique metallic effect. This pear is quite dark in color.
