Shadow in the Grass (alas!)

I really wanted to paint Hakonechloa macra, a Japanese Forest Grass, for the Ornamental Grass exhibit here at EBSQ, because I think the striped "leaves" are stunning! But, I couldn't come up with a satisfactory composition of the grass by itself. So... thank you to Shadow for stepping up! Shadow is currently in the care of my sister because her "real mom" is ill. She's probably thinking about her "mom" while she lounges in the cool grass. What a great place for cat meditation. :)
