"Nature always wears the colors of the spirit." - Ralph Waldo Emerson.
The peacock is recognized as a symbol of colorful beauty. However, some cultures had their own meanings about this amazing bird:
~During the Chinese Ming Dynasty, this bird was equated with divinity and power.
~ Greco-Roman mythology stated the eyes of the peacock's tail feathers symbolize the vault of heaven and the "eyes" of the stars
~In Hinduism, the Peacock is associated with Saraswati, a deity representing patience, kindness, compassion and knowledge.
~In the days of European chivalry, the peacock represented personal pride and loyalty.
I have used BOLD brushstrokes combined with palette knife techniques to create this original painting. The main colors used are blue, green, yellow and red, with hints of many other colors.
