Art: Bloodroot by Artist Patience
I've always had an affinity for trees and am often inspired to incorporate them into my themes. In my youth, my father built for me a simple treehouse in an enormous maple tree that took up much of our front yard. I spent countless happy hours in it, and will be forever grateful to the quiet, stoic companionship a big, old tree can offer. Mythology and lore is rich with the testament of trees, yet they symbolize so much for me personally -- strength, security, nature, time, reflection, history, character, a sense of Place. They provide food, shelter, oxygen, shade, protection. I shall always feel a deep connection to trees.....
